Owners passed $500 million in timeshare rental earnings through RedWeek’s Verified & Protected process in July 2026.

“This milestone belongs to the owners who chose to rent out time they could not use,” the RedWeek team said. “Our job is to make every timeshare rental clear and well supported, from confirming the reservation with the resort to releasing the payout after check-in, while owners keep control of their price and their terms.”

Verified & Protected is the booking process at the center of RedWeek’s Full-Service rental posting, the service RedWeek offers owners who want to rent out unused resort stays. RedWeek facilitated the transactions. The earnings belong to the owners who completed them.

A timeshare rental is a resort stay made available by an owner who is not using their reservation. In a Verified & Protected stay, RedWeek confirms the reservation details with the resort before any money moves, holds the traveler’s payment securely and releases it to the owner only after successful check-in. The $500 million figure counts owner payouts from stays completed through that process. It does not include rentals arranged outside it, so it reflects completed, verified transactions rather than an estimate.

With a Full-Service rental posting, RedWeek’s team also handles the work that often keeps owners from renting: pricing research, posting creation, renter questions and booking management through payout coordination. Owners set their own prices, choose their cancellation policies and control their payouts. They review and accept booking requests when travelers make them.

Many owners pay annual maintenance fees whether or not their plans allow them to use their week. A completed timeshare rental can help offset those costs or fund another trip. In the 12 months ending in August 2026, the median owner earned more than $3,900 across all completed rentals on RedWeek. Results vary by resort, dates, unit type, price and traveler demand, and no posting is guaranteed to rent.

Owners pay a 5% success fee, deducted from the payout only when a rental is completed. A posting fee and an annual membership also apply. The payout process begins two business days after the renter checks in, a step intended to protect both the owner and the traveler.

RedWeek’s marketplace reaches more than 4.2 million registered users and travelers, and more than 200,000 timeshare and vacation club owners use it. Travelers compare timeshare rentals by destination, dates, unit size and amenities, often choosing larger accommodations with kitchens and separate living space.
