Serve Robotics Launches Physical AI Services to Supply Technology to Robot Developers

Serve Robotics has announced a new business division called Physical AI Services, expanding beyond autonomous delivery robots to supply connectivity, data management, and AI training technologies to other robotics companies. The initiative, announced alongside its third-quarter earnings on November 5, 2026, will target developers building robots for construction, agriculture, warehouses, and other real-world environments.

Serve Robotics said the new business will commercialize technologies originally developed for its own autonomous robot fleet. Bedrock Robotics, which develops self-driving systems for construction equipment, is among its customers, while Serve is also collaborating with T-Mobile on infrastructure that brings AI computing resources closer to operating robots.

Physical AI Services Introduces Three Products

Serve Robotics will offer three products through its new division, beginning with Serve Link, a connectivity platform that connects robots operating in the field with AI systems hosted in data centers. The technology allows developers to access more powerful computing resources without installing all the necessary hardware directly inside their robots.

Serve Link is designed to maintain reliable connections across unstable wireless networks, supporting tasks such as remote monitoring, data collection, and handling unexpected situations. CEO and co-founder Ali Kashani said dependable connectivity is essential for robots operating outside controlled environments.

The second product is a data curation tool designed to identify unusual situations within large collections of real-world robot data. Developers can use these identified cases to improve model training and address performance limitations.

The third offering is a data catalog built from information collected by Serve’s sidewalk delivery robots. The dataset is intended to help developers train AI foundation models to interpret complex human environments, including interactions with pedestrians and unexpected obstacles.

Serve Robotics Expands Beyond Delivery Operations

Serve Robotics was established in 2021 following Uber’s acquisition of Postmates and became a publicly traded company in 2024. The company initially concentrated on autonomous sidewalk delivery robots before expanding into healthcare robotics through its acquisition of Diligent Robotics in January 2026.

Kashani emphasized that the new business will complement rather than replace Serve’s existing robotic delivery and hospital assistant operations. Its sidewalk delivery business continues expanding through partnerships with companies including DoorDash and Wonder, reducing its reliance on Uber.

Serve Plans to Commercialize Existing Robotics Technology

Kashani compared the strategy to Amazon’s development of Amazon Web Services, where infrastructure originally built for internal operations was subsequently offered to external customers. He said Serve’s experience operating robots in real-world conditions provided the technical foundation needed to develop commercially available robotics services.

The company intends to make its software, connectivity capabilities, and operational datasets available to developers building different categories of autonomous machines. Serve has not disclosed pricing for the new services or provided revenue forecasts for the division.
